So I really should be a better blogger....

I was looking back at some of my old posts and it was really fun to read about stuff I had forgotten, look at video of the kids, etc.  So I really need to be a better blogger so I have more of that stuff to read through and remember.  Maybe that will be my New Year's Resolution.  So what has happened since January....

Jace finished up kindergarten at Ruth Livingston Elementary.  He loved it.  He also turned six years old if you can believe that!  Baylee turned 3 in September and is growing up fast! We also found out in August that we are expecting a new little one March 17, 2012.  Then just a couple weeks ago we found out it is a boy!  We have no names picked out yet.  For some reason we just don't feel that rushed about it.

Our summer was crazy and I felt like we missed out on most of it.  You see we ended up selling our house in Pasco and buying a new (and by new I mean seriously old, we're talking 1968 people!) house in North Richland.  We love the location!  We are just two blocks from the boat launch and Leslie Groves Park.  We get to take the kids and the dog for walks down along the river and play on the toys at the park.  It is super quiet and the neighbors are all really nice.  There is even two little boys that live just a few houses down.  One is the same age as Jace! That was a nice surprise.

Of course buying an old house means projects! Right away we tore apart the kitchen.  We had to knock out a small wall to make room for the fridge and had to remove and cut down some of the kitchen cabinets to accommodate the modern appliances we purchased.  Then we painted all the cabinets and trimmed them out for more of a craftsman looking front panel.  We put up bead board wainscotting and built in a new pantry.  We also used Rustoleaum Countertop Transformations on the retro 1960's formica.  It is a temporary fix and hopefully we will be able to get new countertops in the coming few years.  Next we are going to retile the kitchen, breakfast nook, and laundry area and create a little mud room area.  We have also been working on other projects including ripping out old landscaping, removing two tree stumps from the front yard, which apparently required ripping out the entire lawn and the sprinkler system! We also replaced the old aluminum windows with new energy efficient vinyl ones.  There are still so many projects to complete.  We know we will be working on this house for years to come! You know once we have some money saved back up for it :-)

moving out of the old house :-(

We were sad to leave our friends in Pasco.  We really have loved the ward and all the friends we have had.  We had the best neighbors and lots of friends for Jace and Baylee to play with.  One of our saddest things about moving is that we were not there when our good friend and neighbor, Rochelle Bassett, came to the end of her battle with breast cancer.  Unfortunately it was not the end that we would have wanted to see. We just went to her funeral on Saturday.  We were sad that we weren't there to help out at the end.

We did get to do a few fun things this summer.  We went up to my sister Amber's place near Seattle for the 4th of July.  We went on bike rides, BBQ'd and left off some serious fireworks!  We also got to go camping with the Thurgood family at Mt. Rainier.  With the Kogans, over memorial day, we went to Spokane camping.  All the adult girls got to go see Wicked and it was awesome.  Evan also took Jace and best buddy and cousin Logan up to Silverwood for a day of fun.  It was especially nice because the next week Logan moved to Utah :-(  We miss them!!!

Okay so I had a bunch of pictures that I created a slide for but now I can't get it to post into the blog. So maybe if you go here you can see it? C:\Users\Owner\Documents\Anvsoft\Photo Flash Maker Free Version\output\myalbum.html
